Your cats will love this aromatic red cedar scratching post. It is 100% natural, solid cedar, no particle board, plywood, carpet, or adhesives. It has not been sealed so it still releases a wonderful cedar scent.
Your unit will be approximately 34" tall and 5" in diameter. The base is 28" wide so even a large cat scratching won't push it over. And, there are two man made "woodpecker" holes to hide a kitty treat, or some catnip, or small toy.
This beautiful piece has been shaped, scraped, and hand sanded smooth yet retains its natural appearance. There are interesting contours and textures for your cats scratching pleasure. And cats can really dig their claws into this scratcher. Eastern red cedar is a perfect scratching medium for cats. The creamy wood is hard enough for satisfying scratching yet not so hard as to splinter and stick in the cats paws. The red heart and knot wood is very fragrant and the reason eastern red cedar is also known as aromatic red cedar.
